Tax Manager

Merry Mullen are seeking to recruit a Tax Manager. 

You will have experience across all tax heads along with excellent people management skills in order to develop efficiencies across the team through good use of our tools and our people.

As a manager you will be responsible for managing and reviewing of all compliance workflows, in addition to developing the team. In addition, you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, to include tax consulting.

This role would suit an ambitious tax professional with excellent communication skills and who is familiar with implementing change in a practice environment.

The role will entail:

  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the Audit and Accounts Department. 
  • Manage workflow within the department, provide an unrivalled client service, lead on business development and deliver the departments commercial performance.
  • Management of a portfolio of clients
  • Manage and review of compliance functions
  • Work on preparing detailed Tax advice in relation to various tax issues
  • Liaising and advising clients on Irish domestic and international corporate tax matters
  • Management and development of Team
  • Management of workflows within the team
  • Motivating the team to perform at their fullest potential in order to deliver results
  • Maintain an excellent level of client service at all times


Personal Relationship Management:

  • Build effective relationships with team, other internal teams and clients.

Skills & Competencies required:

  • Qualified CTA with practice experience
  • You must have 5+ years’ relevant experience across all major tax heads
  • Client facing experience with a focus on the SME Sector
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience using Sage/Relate or similar tax software is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Tools, coupled with the ability to learn new systems
  • An enthusiastic approach to problem-solving, energy and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills coupled with very strong organisational skills
